Our firm was founded in 1907 by
Galdino P. Quintanilla – Garza, Esq.

Objective

We offer specialized legal services in corporate matters, with a preventive approach, as well as in litigation and dispute resolution. Our goal is to serve our clients as strategic and trusted advisors in their business endeavors, contributing our experience and added value in a timely fashion. We provide our services under the highest ethical and personal integrity standards.

Experience

Over the course of more than 110 years, Quintanilla Asociados has rendered legal services to both Mexican and foreign clients, participating in a wide variety of domestic and cross border transactions.

FOUNDERS

Galdino P. Quintanilla († 1943)

Galdino P. Quintanilla, Esq., founder of our firm, was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in 1882. He studied Law in the School of Jurisprudence of the State of Nuevo Leon where he graduated in 1907, year in which he founded the firm. In 1917 he was elected member of the Constitutional Assembly of the State of Nuevo. He was Dean of the Colegio de Abogados de Nuevo Leon (lawyers association) and Dean of the Nuevo Leon University School of Law.

Pedro F. Quintanilla Coffin († 1992)

Pedro F. Quintanilla Coffin, Esq., was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in 1914. In 1940 he obtained his law degree from the National School of Jurisprudence of the National University of Mexico in Mexico City. In 1943 he assumed as managing partner of the Firm. In addition, Mr. Quintanilla Coffin was actively involved in the local and national public sector where he served as Secretary of the State of Nuevo Leon’s Advisory Council (1949-1955); representative to the Nuevo Leon State Congress (1961-1963); Secretary of the Municipality of Monterrey, NL (1964-1966); Nuevo Leon state representative to the Mexican Federal Congress (1967-1970); Attorney General of the State of Nuevo Leon (1979); and Mayor of the Municipality of Monterrey, NL (1980-1982). Additionally, he was a professor in the School of Law and Social Sciences of the Nuevo Leon University and a member of the Colegio de Abogados de Nuevo Leon (lawyers association) and of the Nuevo Leon History, Geography and Statistics Society.

Jorge A. Quintanilla Gomez Noriega, Esq., is a founding partner and managing director of Quintanilla Asociados, S.C. He is a corporate lawyer focused on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, corporate governance and general corporate and commercial matters. Mr. Quintanilla Gomez Noriega has experience advising family business owners in succession planning, including drafting and implementing family protocols.

Prior to joining the firm in 1998, Mr. Quintanilla Gomez Noriega was general counsel at Xignux (formerly known as Axa) between 1987 and 1998 where, among other matters, he participated in a variety of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions and joint venture transactions, and general counsel at Cemex between 1978 and 1987.

He has been professor at graduate level of corporate and administrative law at School of Law of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León from 1987 to 1992.

Mr. Quintanilla Gomez Noriega is a member of the Barra Mexicana de Abogados (“BMA”) where he participated in the foundation of BMA’s Nuevo Leon chapter in 2002 and served as Chairman during the 2002 – 2004 term. He is also a member of the Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa (“ANADE”), where he served as Chairman of the Nuevo Leon Section during the 1987-1989 term.

Mr. Quintanilla Gomez Noriega received his law degree (JD equivalent) from the Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City in 1976 and obtained his M.B.A. degree from The George Washington University in 1983 with emphasis in International Business.

Jorge A. Quintanilla Dieck practices corporate law, concentrating on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, corporate governance and general corporate and commercial matters.

Prior to joining the firm as partner in 2020, Jorge was a senior associate in the mergers and acquisition practice group at Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, S.C. based in Mexico City, where he participated on a variety of domestic and cross-border transactions across multiple industries, representing both buyers and sellers. During 2016 and 2017, Jorge was as a foreign associate in the Tokyo office of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.

Previously, Jorge was an associate in Barrera, Siqueiros y Torres Landa, S.C. (now Hogan Lovells Mexico) based in Mexico City from 2012 to 2013. From 2011 to 2012 he was an associate in Garrigues Abogados y Asesores Tributarios based in Oviedo (Spain). Prior to joining Garrigues, Mr. Quintanilla was an intern and associate in Barrera, Siqueiros y Torres Landa, S.C. (now Hogan Lovells México) based in Monterrey from 2009 to 2010. Jorge also interned in the civil and commercial litigation practice group of Paramo, Fernandez, Najera y Rodarte, S.C. from 2007 to 2008.

Jorge is a member of the Barra Mexicana de Abogados (BMA) and, since May 2020, he was appointed as secretary of the Board of Directors of Ciudad de los Niños de Monterrey, A.B.P., a private charitable organization that provides K-12 education to children from low-income families.

He received his law degree (JD equivalent) from Tecnologico de Monterrey, Monterrey campus, in 2009 and obtained his LL.M degree from New York University School of Law with an emphasis in corporate law in 2014.

His native language is Spanish and he is fluent in English.

Galdino Pablo Quintanilla Dieck’s practice focuses on litigation and arbitration where he has particular experience in commercial disputes, civil disputes as well as constitutional and administrative claims.

Prior to joining the firm as partner in 2021, Galdino was a litigation associate at Quintero y Quintero, S.C. where he represented domestic and international clients in a wide range of legal disputes, including judicial debt collection, defense of minority shareholders’ rights in private corporations, pre-trial procedures to secure evidence or satisfy formalities necessary to bring suit, contractual breach and damages claims, specific performance of agreements, and administrative procedures to nullify government actions.

During law school, Galdino interned in the civil and commercial litigation practice group of Paramo, Fernandez, Najera y Rodarte, Abogados and clerked in the Second Commercial Court (Juzgado de Jurisdicción Concurrente) and the Fourth Civil Court of the State of Nuevo Leon.

He received his law degree (JD equivalent) from the Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey in 2011 and obtained his LL.M in Constitutional Claims (Amparo) from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon in 2014 and his LL.M in International Business Regulation, Litigation and Arbitration from New York University School of Law in 2016.

His native language is Spanish and he is fluent in English
